Former Tangail Municipality Mayor Shahidur released from prison
Former mayor of Tangail Municipality and former general secretary of the city Awami League, Shahidur Rahman Khan, has been released on bail. He was released from Tangail District Jail this Monday morning.
Former Tangail Municipality Mayor Shahidur released from prison
The Tangail Jail Superintendent said that Shahidur Rahman has been granted bail from the High Court in a case of attack, vandalism and looting at the house of a BNP leader in Gopalpur Upazila in 2009. The Chief Judicial Magistrate issued a bail order to the jail on Sunday evening. He was later released this morning.

While Shahidur was in prison, the verdict in the Faruk Ahmed murder case was announced by the First Additional District and Sessions Judge’s Court of Tangail on February 2. Shahidur and his three other brothers were acquitted in the case.
